Dr. Stacy Cootauco
Naturopathic Doctor
Bio
I discovered my passion for natural medicine at 13 years
of age, when I started researching all forms of natural healing – from
Chinese medicine to herbal medicine to hands-on healing techniques. After
attaining my Honours Degree in Physiology at the University of Toronto,
I entered the Naturopathic Program at the Canadian College
of Naturopathic Medicine. Since then I’ve travelled
to India to study Yoga
and to study under renowned homeopathic doctors; I’ve travelled
to Nicaragua
to provide naturopathic care to underprivileged communities; I’ve worked
with HIV patients at the Sherbourne Health
Centre; and have taken numerous additional courses in the field.
Enjoying variety and challenge, I treat all ages and
health concerns including fatigue, digestion, anxiety, hormonal imbalances
including menstrual concerns and infertility, and chronic diseases like
cancer and diabetes. I focus strongly on improving your digestion and
absorption of nutrients. In my practice, it is constantly re-affirmed that
optimal nutrition and lifestyle is the cornerstone of all healing. I help
you understand your body and the root of your imbalances, and then develop
an individualized treatment program to help re-store your vitality. My
training includes clinical nutrition, herbal medicine, homeopathy,
acupuncture, intravenous therapy, and lifestyle counseling.
I am a member of the Canadian Association of
Naturopathic Doctors and the Association of Perinatal
Naturopathic Doctors. I am certified in Parenteral/Intravenous
Therapy and Facial Rejuvenation (Cosmetic) Acupuncture.
