What is it?

Thai Yoga Massage incorporates aspects of yoga, acupressure, rhythmic flow and martial arts to provide a revitalizing, gentle release of stress and tension as it stretches and tones the muscles. Penetrating pressure points, energy work and gentle yoga movements are combined to create a profound healing therapy that leaves you feeling deeply nourished, relaxed and energized.

 

Thai Yoga Massage has 2,500 year old roots, with similarities to both Indian and Traditional Chinese Medicine. It was held in trust for many years by Buddhist monks in Thailand, and incorporates the Buddhist principle of "loving kindness" (a simple meditative state that maintains an environment of awareness, respect and compassion). In other words, the practitioner actively wishes the client to be well, healthy and happy during treatment.

 

Each session is tailored to the specific needs of the client, and all body types can benefit from its effects, regardless of flexibility.

 

 What does it do?

Thai Yoga Massage boosts the immune system and re-balances the entire body, releasing muscular tension and improving circulation. It addresses chronic tension from work-related stress, and is excellent for restoring flexibility and easing pain. It results in greater range of motion, increased joint mobility, flexibility and elasticity. After a treatment, an increased calmness, serenity and vitality may be immediately noticeable.

 

What do I need to know?

All body types in any phase of fitness or life will see benefits from Thai Yoga Massage.

 

Thai Yoga Massage is performed on a padded mat on the floor in loose comfortable clothing that allows for freedom of movement. Pillows, blankets and simple aromatherapy may also be used.

 

Thai Yoga Massage can be enjoyed as often as you like, for its effects are cumulative. Much like the practice of yoga, it is offered to you as a way to maintain or regain balance, as well as enjoy more freedom from much of the stress that we experience in our lives.
